Axis Modulus vs High Modulus Mast

Any reason why I need to spend the extra $300 for a high modulus mast vs the modulus mast? I weight 170 lbs and tow, wing, DW, SUP, and prone foil.

What wingspan foils will you be using?

If you ride a 1300 and you're not bothered by the mast flex on your current mast, then we cannot say you need HM.

Some riders are happy with levels of mast flex others will not tolerate.

when I get into a good wave or a certain speed with the 1300 it feels like the whole entire board and foil have speed wobbles. It's actually terrible. Wondering if its the mast wiggling or me being a bad foiler. Couple of other people have tried my setup and noticed the wobble immediately.

The wide span wings act like they are planted in concrete. Super stable when not on foil.

Then when you pop onto foil, this becomes all board wobble.

When on a small front wing, the whole system wobbles together, board and foil. So actually, you have more control. It's all on you. You wobble, the whole system wobbles.

But when the wing is locked in concrete, and the mast flexes, you have no control. The board wobbles, turns are delayed and all your instincts, and automatic reflexes, go to shit.

It's going to work best with the shortest and stiffest mast.

When I see the new Gong 6 foot wing span, my experience says hell no. Masts will never be stiff enough.

The high modulus is worth it. Plus the 1201 works so much better on the high modulus for your weight. I never get any wobble from my high modulus while using the 1300. I dock start, sup, surf, down wind, and foil drive the 1300 with zero issues.

Little update for you all. The high modulus made the shaking go away, just sucks that it cost $1500.

Foiling: Throw money at the problem.

Glad it worked out for you.
