Not too much info out there other then a couple vids.

Who has them? Trying to figure out how much faster the 1300 is and if it's worth giving up some stall speed for?

PonoBill

I do. the 1150 is my goto for Downwind and light wind. I rarely use the 1300.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

Thank you. Purchasing tomorrow and I'm thinking 1150 would be best.

My main concern is the 1150 will be too slow (wind swell passing me by).

Have you had any issues?

Thanks again !

Worth noting wind swell is a lot slower than long period ground swell.

Watching the guys in Australia. If they're doing bay runs which are only wind swell. The 1150 is the preferred foil. Then they go to 1050 which still works in the bay runs, but can be a little fast if the wind is light.

The 1050 also works in the ocean. With the 1150 they say they have to peel off the ground swell and stick to the wind bumps.

As a new Axis guy looking for a big wing myself (140lbs and currently doing well on a 910b.)

I've heard 1050 is solid but maybe slow. What size rider are you to be looking that big, or are you just wanting to ride in next to no wind? I like big wings, collecting info on "how big is big" currently.

Good info guys.

I'm 165 pounds.

I'm not winging, I'm using a paddle and need quick lift and long glides.

I spoke with Lenny at live2kite and he knows my exact spot and recommended a 1150 or 1300. Think I'll go with 1150 for versatility and he recommended later progressing to 1050 and then 1099.

Unique area, fast currents being pulled toward ocean and high winds pushing against the tide causing slow but big waves but need a foil wing quick enough to overcome the tide.

Spoke with Wake Thief (Devon), Clay Schmitz (Clay Island), Lenny @ live2kite, and Phil @ Houston Kiteboarding - all have been extremely friendly and helpful.

Hopefully report back on how the 1150 does for my ride style.

Better top speed and better turning with the 1300.
