International Surfing Association (ISA) wins a long battle with International Canoe Federation (ICF) over who would govern Standup Paddle sports into the Olympics.

Paddlers did NOT want the Canoe world to write the rules for SUP.....

Finally.... we will be governed by the International Surfing Association as well always wanted!

Is there another article? I just read through this one and it doesn't seem to conclude anything? It reads more like it's just asking what we think the decision should be.
It's not overhead to me!

Interesting how this fight began when SUP was kind of a hot property but, now, not so much anymore...

It may be due to COVID, but I'm seeing a resurgence in fitness paddling and a few more in the lineup. Lots of inflatables and a handful of wave storms. The spectacle of racing may have died, but the recreational paddler presence is growing.

Yep Seattle in-city lakes are teeming with inflateables... AND, 60% of them are on their knees. Understandable I guess with the chop, but it is becoming a thing. I've even seen short paddles. Maybe I'll post some  pictures ...

Time to start the fight for control of Kneel Down Paddleboarding on a 6psi inflatable. Sponsored by Tower.

The funny thing is, I've been seeing everyone in the parking lot at the harbor pumping up their boards. I saw four gals all pumping away and talking to each other like it part of the yoga class:)
I remember getting blisters from the pump handle trying to get my old ULI over 20 psi. I would take me about 20 minutes. I finally just rigged up a regular tire valve adapter and pumped it up at a gas station when I was travelling with it.

Same here. That adaptor and a gas station and you're good to go.

In the end, the ISA is the right place I guess. But all the comps that the sponsors care about sure do look a lot more like canoe sprint races than WSL events.

If curling is in the Games we still have a chance. Personally I'm glad they didn't run the surfing exhibition in ankle high waves this summer. Maybe for 2021 there will be surf. But 2024? In Tahiti! Yes!
