Is there a SUP scene in Newport or Middletown?

Shops I can purchase a board from?

Breaks to avoid? Breaks to go too? I'm going to be moving there and don't want to upset anyone.

Lots of SUP surf in Newport and Middletown. 1st and 2nd beach mostly but other spots as well. Island Surf and Sport has lots of boards. Some great surf down there with lots of spots to choose from so you should be fine.
