I predict foilboards. Foilboards for everyone!

eastbound

JP 2019=====all weights=> "tba"

i want manufacturers to come clean with weights, and stand behind them

no reason a board shd come in way heavy, and buyer have no recourse............

and btw the JP surf/pro boards look promising--good widths relative to size and volume--interesting construction
Portal Barra 8'4"
Sunova Creek 8'7"
Starboard Pro Blue Carbon  8'10"
KeNalu Mana 82, xTuf, ergoT

I like the colors of JP this year and the boards are much more interesting such as the allwater, flatwater and DW boards.

there's always a weight issue with all brand as well as there suggested weight rider.

I've had full carbon board in the past and they weight more than manufacture board labeled weight  :o

I love it when 2019 comes early...

I need a foolboard rather than a foilboard. Foilboards are too hard.

Wetstuff

"Foilboards are too hard."  ...'talk about narrowing the gene pool, eh?  I like this Rabbit Hole, there's plenty more depth before I get bored.

I Chapter 11. Chapter 11 for every manufacturer, distributor or retailer who over commits to the extremely niche market of SUP Foil.

I have nothing but admiration and respect for the pioneers and all those giving foiling a go. But the copycats and johnny come latelys chasing the next big thing or worse, the next fastest growing water sport who think they can make a fast buck out of selling foils... no sympathy when they go broke.

Did anyone see the new Naish dugouts?

No but would be interested to see one as a winter touring kind of board.

Nah. There might be some manufacturers who are not already committed to the foil market who enter, but it's such a niche sport with a bigger barrier to entry for customers than windsurfing.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

Of course I don't think literally every person will buy a foil board, but every manufacturer I have seen who didn't already have a foil board in 2018 has added one in 2019. Foil board probably won't be making anybody rich, but I could see the demand for an entry level foil board being bigger than the demand for some of the sub 100L pro model surf sups that are catalog staples year after year.
