You did it right. I bet it will out last all your foils and boards.
It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

The twill on the top part didn't turn out as well as I had hoped.  Lost the look in sanding.  Oh well, it will still look cool.

Just been filling and sanding, oh joy.  Got it all down to 400 grit, a little more sanding here and there and then one hot/gloss coat to be the final finish.

Pilot drilled the track holes.

Cut initial holes for the Tuttle bolts, hogged out the balsa in the area and peeled up my encased Mylar, worked well, has a clean bottom surface.  I had intended to cut the full bottom out to the wall of the lower support buttress, but I keep chickening out, wondering if it will be strong enough.  Easy enough to leave it as is and just leave the balsa I couldn't get out in the middle (I might try my pressure washer to get it out).  It's definitely stronger this way, but cost probably about 50-70g.  Sitting at about 630g right now.  Since I break everything I'm tending to lean toward staying stronger and heavier.

DONE!!!

Holy cow, got carried away with finishing, now museum piece status!  Almost shameful to put it in the ocean.  610g (1.3lbs) final weight.  Whew, now on to getting the track box in my board so I can use it!

The Groove and mine are both a 4" height, the FoilMount is a 2.5" height.

Thanks guys.  Got to credit West System 207 hardener for the finish, very clear and shiny epoxy!
