Hello all,

I'm making a cedar SUP and am at the point of adding the internal blocking. This SUP will be used as a light wind sailboard as well. I can't find any clear information on where exactly the mast box should be placed. Can anyone help me out? Thinking just forward of center. The SUP is 11'2" and 30" wide. Not sure what other information is needed. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Right in the middle works fine. I have added mast tracks to a lot of SUPs, and I find smack dab in the middle is fine.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

Thank you. Is it necessary to add a centerboard fin? I have a back fin with thrusters.

You will probably find that surf thrusters don't work for sailing. I find that a single fin works best with a sail.

You don't really need a centerboard/daggerboard. Thruster setup is great to play in small waves, of course a large center fin with less drag is better for cruising
For the mast place , check boards like the starboard blend 11'2, jp allround 11, Fanatic fly allround 11'2, naish crossover 11'...
