Ok so far actual weight are as follows:
two 14x24 reported at 12.4 Kg (27 1/3 lbs) versus 10.5 published - 18% variance
and
one 14x26 reported at 12.7 kg (28 lbs) versus 11 kg published - 15% variance

Now if we consider that the construction is similar to Jimmy Lewis non-carbon sandwich board, the price in the USA is $1,000 higher for a Maliko than for a Rail or a Sidewinder. And only $200 more than the full carbon JL Rail.
That is my only grippe with the board. I am curious to see what the used market will be in the next two years as the board should be pretty robust.

Well I had the chance to get on a 14x26 Maliko last week-end. One the weight was quite good. Just by hand it seems around 25 lbs. The construction felt quite sturdy as expected from a sandwich.
I did not paddle much as it was immediately on the finishing line after a 20km race with no wind and I was beat. The first impression was that it feels somewhat close to the Vapor. I could not get into chop so cannot comment on that. My gut feeling, on the little bit I was on it, is that it is a little bit faster than the Vapor and a tiny bit less stable.
BTW I am not a pivot turn kind of guy but even as beat-up as I was I had zero problem getting on the tail and turn, it feels quite right. I wouldn't mind having the opportunity to use one for some time in all sort of conditions, but i also feel quite good to own my Ghost Carbon Vapor. I still love the feel of this board and the nose in chop is second to none IMO.

It seems like a trend. I just received a word from a reader of the zone in Germany that
they offer one like yours with a sizable markdown due to weight.
I still think it's a good purchase. I'll take good constructed 28LBS everyday over a fragile 23.
in progress...

Yes I was just hoping for 26 lbs but can definitely live with 28.
The secret is to first lift my Ace-GT at 31 lbs and only then lift the Maliko. It feels light, problem solved....
That what happened when I first tried it. I was down from 19km on the Ace-Gt. I lifted the Maliko and it felt lighter than 28.

The first Maliko I ever tried was DJ’s. It seemed quite light. I’ve tried a few since then but all have felt heavier than DJ’s. So my advice is to buy DJ’s boards when he sells them ;)
