Hi DJ,
That wave looks great for foil surfing, anyone tried it there yet?
Aloha, I welcome and appreciate all responses of positivity and good feeling.

Yes I agree.. except it's a pretty long paddle to get there.. or a very long walk along the beach.. but it's still do-able.

And no.. I've not seen any sup foils at all here.. If I was a few years younger and could afford it I'd jump on it.. I'd love to try a foil.

Another fine video. Seeing your videos just gives me a feeling of serenity.

BTW, that blue and white colored Naish looked fine too.  ;)

Thanks for sharing.

Nice.  Your video makes me want to learn to surf!  Is there an age limit for newbies?

No. You're as young as you feel along with being adventurous.

I don't think I could spot any proners in there.  If a proner shows up, do you guys rub his face in the sand and break his board over his head?

Ahh, but you've been surfing for a while, yes?  I never have.  I'm just slightly younger than you....

Apparently, you can learn at an older age.  I started SUP at 62 by paddling in the harbor, went out on the ocean scared for the first time at 63, stood up on my first wave at 63, what a strange sensation.  I never thought I could do it when I was young, but watching all the varieties of ages and shapes out there doing it made me try.

I'm 67 and probably low intermediate/ high grom now, because I finally learned how to turn.  My learning curve has been very slow but steady, which is all I can ask for at this age when so many people in this age range seem to be croaking right and left.

The way I look at it, if I started stand up surfing on my 10th birthday, I would be a bit over 13 and a half now.

Awesome!  I'm stoked!   If I can get some Zoners to give me tips while I travel (or stay?), I'll be set!  I have to favor my left shoulder a little bit, but other than that, I'm good to go.
This is yet another fantastic thing about the Zone----there are paddlers of all levels and ages, men and women alike, who are willing to share their learning curves and journeys on the water.  So cool!
