Finally saw "The Shallows"

Pretty cool movie with a bit of Lively butt crack.

How come she just didn't "jump the shark" and hang ten the beast back to shore?

It had its moments. The movie at least tried to justify why the shark would keep hanging around, trying to eat the girl. The ending was very dumb, though.

I will remember his "gotta keep your head right" quote forever.

Yup, beautiful scenery.  However, the usual tropes.  Anthropomorphic shark, spiked by man and seeking revenge.  The shark instead of being a dumb fish has all the calculating savvy of an Einstein Orca.

Cute little seagull prop with wounded wing.

And, of course, she can see clearly into the depths of the water without goggles. She also manages to go for a couple of days without fresh water to drink.

Stuff like dealing with the bitten leg and improvising, the stinging coral and jellyfish etc. were all kind of icky.

Maybe a six out of ten with three points for bikini-foo.

They tried to find a story that would have a hot girl hardly dressed for an entire movie while making it mildly entertaining.
