Weight of new Naish construction
« on: February 04, 2017, 02:17:45 AM »
Can anyone who owns a new Quest confirm the accuracy of the advertised weights?
Are they as optimistic and variable as in the past? Or better, due to tighter construction process.... I'm considering a 9'6" Quest ... if truly the 25lbs as advertised, that's probably fine. But if actually heavier, I'd like to know.
Thanks!

Dusky,

Hey I don't mean to hijack your question here
But why not consider a Sunova the ONE 9'5
It has
Proven surf shape that paddles great in flatwater (Creeks vids)
Very durable construction (Wood Epoxy) it also is much LIGHTER 21#...Not to mention very pretty...
Lastly the ONE is almost 30% less expensive (DELIVERED) If you want it in XXX construction (Carbon/Wood    sandwich)      it would be 2 POUNDS lighter yet and delivered at pretty much the same price as the heavier epoxy sandwich Naish.

Seems worth considering PM or email me for more details

Hi,

I have just got the quest 9'6. Weight without fins was 10.6kg.

I love the board. Super stable but surfs well. So far the construction has been very tough. The board feels rock hard. I got wiped out in 3ft surf and smashed my knee onto the bottom of the board. There was a little dent, but surprisingly it has popped out over the course of the week.

I was looking for a very strong board that could handle the type of hollow beach breaks we often get in sydney, and it fits the bill perfectly. It was the same price as the similar fanatic allwave, however the latest allwaves have a pretty crappy deck, crap fins and don't seem to be as surf orientated (rails etc)

Thanks Bowerboy... I was hoping you would chime in. In addition to my being a bit of a Naish fan boy, the idea of a tougher, yet not too heavy construction is appealing.
