Hello
I want to share some videos of White Water Standup paddling in South-East of France.
I've started this activity a few months ago, I still consider myself as a beginner, so any comments are welcome.

Le Loup, my first "narrow" river:

L'Ardèche, not a lot of rapids but gorgeous landscape:

Le Var, my first descent without professional instructor:

Night Wing

Nice videos. Just wish I could understand your comments since I don't speak French.

Thanks for sharing your three videos.

Looks like fun. Inflatables are definitely on the menu.

I've added subtitles yesterday on two of the videos (click on CC button on player bar).

QuoteInflatables are definitely on the menu.
There are also plastic white water sup boards. But they weight a lot (double of an inflatable, like 20kg).
You can also descent with epoxy boards under certain conditions: if water level is high and river difficulty is matching your skills you will certainly hit nothing.
But if you consider all pros and cons, I think inflatables win.

mr_proper

Yes, the plastik boards are really heavy. 20-25 kg (http://riotsups.com/streetfighter/).
I tried the Dragorossi Boards with 22kg. For me they was a little bit more stable than the iSUPs.

A fellow wwsuper told me that rigid boards scary him because of the weight: he has the impression that if the 20kg board hits him, he will be harmed.

Another video of our Halloween descent:

In this descent I tried a isup with a dedicated white water shape (9'6x35''x6''). I found it much more stable than mine (10'3x32''x4'')

Pretty cool fredi

I'd be more worried about falling on rocks than a hard board hitting me.... but inflatables seem like the logical choice.

Really nice! I heard from Dode Florent that the 130km down river Dordogne Intégrale is one to try in that area. Pretty keen too see if I can make it this summer of '17! [emoji39]

Last video: Daluis' Canyon. Very beautiful landscape with red rocks. Class III with low water.

Our last video: Verdon river, the part between Castellane and Point Sublime (the part after is another world in term of difficulty and danger). In summer this part can be run only the days when the dam let the water go (0, 1 or 2 times a week, depending on weather). Statical waves and depth water (for european standards), so very pleasant run.

SG50SUP

Beautiful sceneries! I was in the Dordogne Intégrale race and it was so much fun! Will definitely be back next year for more French downriver.

In France you have two kind of competitions:
- flat water with a few white water that most of competitors run on their knees, like Dordogne Intégrale and Marathon de l'Ardèche
- white water competitions short downriver with no flat sections and boardercross, like Outdoor mix Festival
