So i'm always on the lookout for fishing related SUP stuff, and with the recent post on different fins there is a wealth of information out there.. I'd like some opinions and thoughts from guru's and others on this type Fin for fishermen using the SUP as a fishing platform.

What are your thoughts on the BoneFishHippies Fin ?

If you ht the web site you can see better photos and information, as well as 360 degree view...

What are your general thoughts and comments on the design, good, bad, or indifferent ?

Looks like a good design for the shallows. They make small rubber fins for white water sup'g, but these look like they'd be better for paddling distance.
It's not overhead to me!

I've tried the small 3" rubber river fin and it's kinda ok for flat calm water, but does not track so well.

Fish, no trolling for me.. basically paddle or pole standing quietly in very shallow water, less than 12" sometimes less the 6" depths, sight casting at vert spooky fish.
But then but 10am the winds start to pick up and becomes an issue.

After reading many post speaking of  foils, lift... and other technical terms, I see this as what could be called a hunk of metal bent as a fin. They come in 2 lengths 29" & 15.5" , draw 2.5" and require 28" or 14" of flat hull area to mate up to the hull... there are 2 sides a couple inches apart that run parallel to the length of the board and flare out at about 60 degree (guess) angle from perpindicular .

I'm sure with the length it likely tracks very well in a straight line.

Very clever design, I might make a few of those for myself, in larger format with a bit of foil as an experimental downwind fin. But that looks ideal for fishing. Thanks for showing me that.

I made a couple similar but different verisons, but fully weedless forward or backwards, currently using on my fishing sup.

Interesting but I will go with Speedboard Version running Allison Ventral and Probox Twins.

That SpeedBoard looks interesting, but I can't seem to find much of any info about it. Do you have a link to the company/board with specs of other info ?
