Big: funny story.  I took a last minute trip to Maui over Labor Day and my girlfriend booked us in an air bnb type cottage on the north shore near Paia.  It turns out the owner of the cottage, Valerie, is Jimmy's ex-wife and Marlon's mom!  I missed doing a Maliko run with them by a couple of days as they were headed off to FL for the trade show.

Valerie showed me pics of Marlon riding Jaws and with some big fish he got spearing.  A top waterman for sure. 

Glad to hear you're going good on the 9'2!"  It's surprisingly stable and as you said, super smooth and predictable.  It's those foiled but soft JL rails!   BTW I switched out the 7" center fin for a standard FCS II performer rear thruster fin (medium), and haven't looked back.  For your size, a regular surf tri fin set in the larger size I think would be perfect.  It has future boxes but the FCS II is a no-brainer way to do a rear fin in the US box, so may need to mix and match but I'm pretty sure you can get some fins that come both ways, like the GL fins.

I just got a 7'10" L41 (see above post) but I'm keeping the SG for when it gets bigger.
