If you are having difficulties with registration please try again using an easily identifiable water sports name.  You can always change your forum display name after acceptance.  Even with strong, current Captcha some of the process is manual and it is very helpful for me to pick real users out of pages of spam entries if you choose obvious names from our focus interests here.

If you are having trouble solving Captcha, you are not alone.  It is a pain but it is necessary.  I would highly suggest using the audio feature to ease the process.

Thanks for the tip. I've tried registering 8 times over the last two years and never got accepted until I tried another username.
