Guys -

I am sad to say that both the Wellfleet SUPathon and the Challenge on the Charles in Boston will not happen this year.  We had some slight venue issues and then the CCBC Board ultimately decided to take a break from organizing three events this year so we can focus our effort on the main event in August.

We hope be bring those events back in the future though.....

Registration will open soon for the 9th Annual CCBC on August 27th!
Whatever floats me

Mike sorry to hear that news.  Although I never participated in those two events and focus on the CCBC, I heard nothing but great things about both events and what an amazing job you and all your crew did putting them on.  You deserve a break for sure.

hopefully this will result in a record turnout for the CCBC in August!

Chaser, you guys do such a fantastic job, whatever call you make is the right one!

I will miss the camaraderie of so many great people..... CCBC crossing is going to be huge  ;D

See you all there....I'm stoked for it!

Bummer... always loved shooting the Wellfleet event and my first Charles last year was a blast too. I would also like to echo Creeks comment you, Stoney and everyone else involved do a fantastic job.

See ya all at the 2016 CCBC camera locked and loaded.  :)

Appreciate the kind words and support guys. Deciding not to have those events put my stomach in knots but it is the right call for a bunch of reasons. We are determined to bring them back next year with the stoke cranked up!

It was a tough one. I hated the thought of not doing them but I think its the right choice. Those events never raised much for CH...weren't meant to but the planning, especially for the Charles was significant. A break was necessary. Last year was a tough one for the CCBC with the weather and folks feeling less like partying after such a grueling day. we're making sure we focus our efforts on keeping it the best event in New England as we get ready for the 10th anniversary in 2017.

I was ready to party all night. Bunch of weenies. What's the date for the crossing? I'm going to do the Turks and Caicos Kalama Kamp this year, sounds like a blast. I'm thinking of some other travelling and doing some car races in Cali, but the stars might align. I'll certainly do next year unless I kaack or something stupid happens. I'll be 70, so that's a good way to celebrate. Going to have to pick up my distance stuff. I've been doing plenty of downwinders, but no long slogs. I think the diesel still works, but it might need some tuning.

We'll do it together. This year is most likely out of the cards again but somehow I'm going to do it at least once more for the tenth.

It's all good Chaser and Stoneaxe, as awesome as the events are every year we definitely understand all the hard work and effort the CCBC crew put into planning and running the events. A year off will provide for additional focus on the CCBC will provide an opportunity for everyone to look forward to the Crossing and to next years events !!

Any chance we can have a pre-CCBC open house/gathering at Christopher's Haven? That little time spent with the kids and their families before the Challenge on the Charles provided the extra motivation, extra heart, and determination for the CCBC. I know it sure did for me, I will never forget the time I spent with one of the kids and how quickly she warmed up to me, I thought of her often during the training and my difficult times on the crossing and knowing the fight that she had to endure pushed me more and more.

Bummer to find this out! Mike, Brownie, Stoney, Nicole, Sue, the entire CCBC Ohana! You guys are all amazing and I stoked to have been part of the it the past few years. Too bad no Boston, that is such a good event and fun time. I can't make the crossing this year, but maybe I'll have to clear the calendar for the 10th! Mahalo you guys!
