2016 Red Paddle Co 14' Elite video

I scored the 2015 Red 14 Elite due to warranty exchange over a 12.6 Explorer.
Considering it's an iSup, this is one impressive board! The video review is on point.
a lighter, more durable and maybe somewhat stiffer 2016 sounds even better.

If I had to have one board, that would be it. With this board in my backpack the prospect
of going places without a hard board doesn't feel so gloomy any more.

The big news is the new construction process. MSL fusion is Monocoque Structural Laminate and it takes out the human element in gluing the layers together and they now fuse them together in a machine press. What that means is the 2016 boards look and feel much better, no wrinkles or blemishes. Using less glue in this process all boards are up to 5lbs lighter. The boards are also stiffer at lower pressure as the layers are fused as one and create a stiffer material.

Julian, have you had a chance to discover whether the 2016 construction is as tough and durable as the previous construction?  Is it perhaps too soon to know for sure?

^ it should be tougher. Glue can, and in some series did, delaminate. Also glue was a lot heavier. The fusing should eliminate this. Yes, time will be the ultimate test.

It is just as much material as last year and by fusing the layers in a machine it does away with more parts of the process where humans are involved. Usually, these are the parts where the weaknesses or errors occur. It is still early days but I expect them to be as tough or tougher and more durable than previous years. Fusing the layers makes them "one piece" and should also be marginally stiffer on top of the massive weight savings from lack of glue.

It is... Was this meant for Eric's post about surf style iSUPs? If so, Eric's 6'2" and 190 or 200lbs from memory and wants something that can handle flat water paddles on occasion - it's a bit small in this case.
