My wife and I are going to be staying in Bali for April and wanted to ask around for some suggestions.  We both are experienced surfers and I sup, and hopefully bringing my new sup as well.  We are currently looking around west bukit but are open to suggestions.  We are really relaxed and not into the party or tourist scene at all.  I'm open to any ideas as to where to stay, as this is a new area for me to explore.  Thanks

A whole month sounds like a great trip. Have you checked airbnb yet?
Pluto Platter: 7-10 x 29.25 x 4.25 x 114.5 liters
Laird 'Hybrid Surfer' 9-6 x 28 x 125 liters

Off-Shore

I'm a big fan of Sanur for SUP. Very mellow. No Agro and plenty of wide open breaks to explore. The only issue is tides. At low tide you need to walk the 500meters back or to the reefs. If you take your own SUPs you can leave in the racks at the RipCurl School of surf on the beach for a small fee. They have basic showers and lockers there and there are some good restaurants suiting all budgets a short walk along the coast. This would be a good place to base yourself at and then venture out to other spots by car / van. I may even be there for Easter break.

Good to know. What do you think about sup surfing and staying in the Nusa Dua area? Is low tide an issue there too?

Not really, from my understanding the best way to get a place is to find a hotel for a day or two and ask around for rentals.  They are usually much cheaper to find when you are already there than what we see on the sites like airbnb, homeway, vrbo.

I'm also not sure if I should find a place for the month close to some good surf, or try different areas, week here and there etc.
