I think this graphic shows well that although it is possible to use boards with low rockers in bumps, having a board with a bit more rocker that "fits" into the bumps better can be a big advantage.  We just had a super windy weekend and I was glad to be on the Bump Rider with a nice rocker that feels right at home on steep bumps.

I can relate to this.   We just had one of the windiest days of the season yesterday and I choose the 30" wide supposedly slower Bump Rider.  My friend was on a bullet V2 and I often struggle to keep up with him on light wind days, yesterday it was the other way around and I stopped to wait a couple times.  I was stable and with more rocker I "fit" in the wave better, and I was able to focus all my energy on riding bumps and having fun.  :)

Great video, thank you Clay, looks like you got some long glides in awesome conditions.
We had some great conditions last weekend.  I set a new personal record time on Saturday and then beat that records by another two minutes on Sunday when the winds were even stronger.  Unfortunately I did not get any video, but here is the GPS data from my personal record run from the blinker buoy in Hawaii Kai to the windsock at Kaimana Beach in 56 minutes on the 14' x 28" Bump Rider.  My previous record of 57:50 was on a 17' Bullet.

Yes, great video Clay. Loved the camera angle. Hope to see some more videos.

Robert, you were smokin! How much wind did you have on that run?

Argosi, the wind was about 20 knots gusting up to 30.  It was unusually steady wind and a good direction.  We also had a rising tide so everything lined up for a fast run.

Thanks Argosi and Robert.

I'm still amazed that boards that are supposed to be slower can be faster.

I received a lot of recommendations to go narrow and "grow" into the board.  My experience is that what works for me is start with a stable board and if I outgrow it then move to a tippier board.  I've found this to be a lot more fun than to struggle right off the bat with a board that is beyond my current ability.

More videos in the works, my current project is making a lighter mount for SUP surfing.
Aloha, I welcome and appreciate all responses of positivity and good feeling.
