Thanks for that info airSUP.  So looks to me like the Coleman is the way better deal, simply because of the price point.  Does it seem sturdy?  Reviews complain about the tubing being cheap

The pump feels quite sturdy and has a bayonet style connection for the hose, which i usually prefer, the other 2 are screw in.

However, my sample's hose leaks a little where it connects to the pump, and it's definitely the lowest grade hose of all these - at the moment feels like the weakest link...

I'll be exclusively using this pump for a few weeks, so will report back soon...

Does the coleman still work?

I might be ordering this:
http://www.amazon.com/Slime-40026-Heavy-Direct-Inflator/dp/B005Z8HAUK/ref=cm_wl_huc_item

2 cylinders and not terribly expensive - tho' reading about the K-pump, maybe my money would be better spend there, in the long run.

My Coleman is still working, I'll give it a good workout this summer and report back if it fails :)

Looking at this one - same price as the coleman and says 20psi:

http://www.amazon.com/Volt-Inflatable-Stand-Paddle-Board/dp/B00WIWUIJG/ref=pd_sim_sbs_468_6?ie=UTF8&refRID=0BTBH57RM1WHQ40GXECS

but 2 reviews? ugh. Does say 2 stays - so a "leaf blower" to 1 or 2 psi then switched to piston pump.

Anyone see one yet?

Hi Erik - I just got one of those to test out.  I like it because it's lightweight (under 5 lbs), has a high volume, high pressure and deflation setting too.  I got over 18psi with it but I need to be a little more efficient switching between the settings.  One complaint is the pressure gauge did not work but it may just be an adjustment (I used a spare Bravo gauge to get my reading). I'll report back with more info but it looks like they might be sold out.

Same for me. Pressure gauge did not work and was told it was slow but definitely need to dial in the two settings. I got for my kids so I really haven't used it. Just their feedback.
They were some on ebay for pretty cheap.

I have been using the Sevylor for over a month. Probably have blown up 50 isups over this time. The primary isup has been a 16 foot uli. For the amazon price of 60 dollars I am very happy. Pressure gage agrees with the uli hand pump gage and another gage I have.

Since the uli can go to 18 I set the pump to turn off at 15 and use uli pump finish to 18. The 3 remaining psi is a breeze.

Since it has been hot wweather  I do let it cool down 5 minutes between filling consecutive boards.

It plugs into dash and so far no blown fuse but the plug is getting pretty warm. The pump is well covered and ventilated. I put my hand over the vent and so far it appears it is not getting very hot.

Thumbs up on this pump!

Capo I think you got the last one ☺so I went and ordered the seyvlor. I figure I can set it to work while I get the rest of the stuff ready and save time even if it isn't much faster than hand pumping.

BTW I tried the Slime compressor I linked previously and found it too slow.  It's another small compressor with a fake large shell over it to make it look bigger.  It's not terrible for Inflating tires but sssslllooowwww for an isup.

This thread getting bumped was timely since I've had my second Bravo fail on me today. I've got the version with the battery and I think that's what failing but it's pretty irritating. That's 2 in 2 years.   Has anyone tried this one from West Marine?  http://www.westmarine.com/buy/kwik-tek--super-high-pressure-air-pump-20psi--16043382

Amazon has this pump now for $49.95.  Haven't had a need to use mine much so I have some friends testing it out and so far so good.

Sevyler pump update. Over another months use and this pump is doing well. Have a couple of friends with isups that I get together with twice a week. They are using my pump so the use is getting higher.

Still giving it a thumbs up.

Update on my sevylor pump:
hose blowout near the joint after about 200 uses,
thisthis joint failure is common complaint for the people giving it 1 start on amazon reviews too

I did pump way more than average user would in a year, and the glue used to join the hose to the connector is to blame, not too hard to fix with good glue, at this price I'm still giving it a thumbs up

My Seyvlor pump hose cracked/leaked at the pump side (read: hot end) like airSUP had happen.

I have not used it 200 times :D more like...40 or so. I messed around with new hose. Bought a $10, 10ft hose from Lowes - I think it was PVC rubber - really heavy, thick, would NOT lay straight - waste of money.

I picked up some high flow airline connectors next trip in:

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-High-Flow-Aluminum-Female-Quick-Coupler-and-Plug-Set-036-0138H/205184364?cm_mmc=shopping-_-shopzilla-_-D25-_-205184364&szredirectid=14629146861394188150810080301008005&gclid=CIDI7PG10MwCFdPqfgodaPoNhQ&gclsrc=ds

Compared to a normal fitting("borrowed" picture,not mine):

I ground the corners off the female fitting and glued it into the original hose:

I dug in my shed and had some heater hose - put the pump(hot) end into the heater show - it's a tight fit - again there is a bit of Gorilla Glue in there too....

stuck a male fitting in the other end - this leaked with no glue - no surprise. Ground off the corners, added Gorilla Glue - no pics of it done sorry...

Here it is pumping the BP Isup to 15 psi. The rubber hose gives it a chance to cool, the quick connect lets it rotate - one problem I had with the old hose was getting the hose to twist "just right" and let the pump sit square to the ground. That's why I spent the $16 for the quick fitting set at Home Depor- cause' I'm a cheap bastid', for sure :D

The advantage for me is I can get the board filling while mess around with other stuff - like my dry suit - I'm a big boy, that's a lot of work stuffing me in there!! :D By the time I'm ready, the board is 12psi or better. I often switch to manual pump at this point - the last 3 or 4 psi seem to take forever. The first 10 are quick enough but the high-volume pump that comes with the board is pretty fast on the last few psi.

The quick connects could allow for:
adding another electric pump - I own one designed for cars, a Quick-Air II.

Letting me manual pump at the same time as the electric pump...not sure this is worth much....

maybe adding a loooonnnng hose? Sometimes I'm filling at a nearby lake early early in the morning, maybe I could keep the noise down by leaving the pump in the car and running a hose out to the sup - I'd like to not be so obnoxious.

So I'm up to about $75 into the pump with the new hose and fitting. Still a good deal.
