Got the racks up in my Transit shuttle rig.  That's a 14' Javelin on the rack and I think there's room for three more.
Cove, if you come back this summer I'll even let you sleep in it, no extra charge!

I like your rack.  What kind is it and how is it mounted to the walls?  I have comtemplated something similar in my Sprinter.
It's made from 15 series 80/20 aluminum extrusions cut to length.  This is a Ford Transit and it comes with a bunch of unthreaded nuts welded to the walls.  I just tapped them and screwed the L brackets in.

Hey Guys,

This is mine: A ford sport trac, lots of space on the top with rack and some hooks on the side, and I keep a standard ready-to-go-beach-kit in the back. Sunblock, vaseline, extra shirt, surf hat, fins.

What is your car for this life?
Enjoy life, surf more...

Amazing. Funny how your dream car changes from a Ferrari to a Sprint Van as you age.
I used to look at a nice expensive car and think, "Lucky Guy"!
Now I think, "That guy doesn't know what he's missing":)

i know!!!!!!  i had to buy my wife a new grand carevan cuz i took hers.. its great when u can keep your boards with ya all the time..

The guys here give me grief all the time about how skanky my Xterra hand-me-down is. I admit, it smells a little funny and the springs make hideous noises on their perches when I crank the steering too far. It's going to rust from the top down from all the salty boards it's carried. But I am capable of keeping wheels looking nice. It's just kind of pointless here on Maui. I just came across this on Pinterest--my previous car after three years and 50K miles. And yes, I carried SUPs in it. There's a picture of that around somewhere.

Like Supcheat, I don't have the time or the interest to play with exotic cars anymore. It was fun at the time though.

Bill, I suspect my auto ennui is Low T ..I got a note from the young fellow in CA who bought my 7,000mi Carrera S a couple of years ago - he's happy as a clam.  I was happy to see it go..?!

I have driven an '01 Ford Escape 267,000mi that I could leave running in Juarez with a full tank ..nobody'd take it before it ran out of gas.  ..lost the lust -sort of- the A4 Allroad looks good...mmmmm?

My truck.  Bad for 14" SUPs, great for shorter boards.

I've been wondering how long of a board you can get in a Sprinter.  I see JP4 has a 14' board in his.  Is that pretty much the limit?

Now I just need my Element to hold on until that goes into production.
