NEW ENGLAND COASTAL SUS ROAD TRIP (circa 2015)???

I'm looking at taking an 8-12 day New England coastal road trip next Sept-Oct. Driving a mini van (with bed) from Cape > NH > Maine with Acadia National Park as my final destination (possibly Nova Scotia but not likely).

Anyhow, it would be me, one of my dogs and my gear. It would be weather and swell dependent as SUP surfing would be a main objective along with mountain biking.

I really enjoy doing travel research, but I'm curious if anyone has done this route as a camping/surf trip and can offer locales and tips for coastal area camping, mtn bike trails and lesser known SUS spots (NH & ME).

I was in southern Maine over the Labor Day weekend and stopped by Winslow Park and Campground in Freeport.  It's right on Casco Bay. No surf, but its right on the water.

It's somewhat inland, but Pawtuckaway State park in NH offers nice lakeside camping in case the swells are hiding, and right off 101, it's a quick drive to Hampton and the Wall if the surf's up.
