Not the kind of board I would have considered as I think more 'surf' with occasional flat water,  but was pleasantly surprised at how many nice characteristics it had.

It was beyond stable. I have never stood on a more stable platform. ..including the 9-6 Allwave and 11-4 Nalu.   It was only 28" wide but felt like I imagined 34+" would feel. (length or chunky rails?  ..I have never been on anything larger than 12-6)

It made plenty good time thru the water; did not feel draggy at all.  The bottom has a slight double concave from underfoot aft but nothing exotic.  The rails were chunky but this is made for a big guy or the added weight of extra gear.  I'm sure the camping tiedowns are useful, just not for this daytripper.  It was also lighter than I expected.  Nicely done.

I only got about 10 minutes on it.  A couple from PA were visiting our Ntl. Seashore and I had my rowing boat with me. I find SUP'ers pretty open and interested in what everyone is paddling.  If someone shows the least bit of interest, I always as if they want to try.   Anyway... another board for the memory bank.

The TahoeSUP 14' Zephyr you paddled was a 2013 model or earlier.  They discontinued the 14' Zeph for 2014 - it now only comes in a 12'6".  The model replacing it is called the Tallac, a 14' board.  Note that there are still some 14' Zephyrs from 2013 available, and are called the Classic models.  I am not in any way affiliated with TahoeSUP...

Its' a Cadillac cruiser, that's for sure.  And not slow by any means.  "Performance Touring" would be the ideal classification for the Zephyr.

We were a big Tahoe dealer the last couple years.  It's an ideal lake board, IMO.  Very lightweight, but the flipside of lightweight is almost always reduced durability.
