Just got a new Laird Pearson Arrow 10'0 woot
« on: May 05, 2014, 04:35:02 PM »
Hope I get used to it fast! I have a Naish Mana 9'6' kinda like riding a potato chip.  I also just got a starboard nrg 10'5, I hope the Laird is a winner cuz I am not thrilled with the others

Hopefully, it is a winner for you.

Is it the Surftech version?

It's the Pearson Arrow, I am a little afraid that it might be too small for me.  I am 5'9 180 intermediate

Well, the Pearson Arrow Laird could be the Surftech version or the eps version.
They are very similar but made of different materials.  The Surftech is probably stronger
(will take quite a licking before being damaged) but is quite a bit heavier which may make it more stable.

The Surftech's all have the same dimensions but the EPS can vary somewhat to quite a bit
- like the width, which impacts stability.  I think the heavier weight would also make the Surftech version more stable - but not positive.  -- Both versions are somewhat advanced compared to boards with more width and/or more volume and/or chunkier rails.

I have the Surftech 10'6" (for 4 years, my only board) but have not ridden their EPS boards, although I'd like to try one out.  Its a gas to surf....it took me a bit at first - definitely worth the challenge!  I'm 5'9" 190.

Let us know how yours goes for you.
