14' x 30" Fanatic falcon is very good in short-period swell, especially in side chop. The new 14' x 29" NSP/DC shape should be worth a look as well (haven't been on the production board, I expect to test one next week but the 28" proto was very slick and crazy stable in slop)

I've had the use of a demo model of the new 14 x 29" NSP/DC (coco/carbon) over the least few days and have about about 5-6 hours on it ..you owe it to yourself to try one if you can. Very, very well-mannered in a range of conditions (our local waters sound a lot like yours). It tracks super well and if this morning's interval session with the local quicks is any guide it's fast too (on the wide falcon I was usually 200-300m behind the group, today I was never more than a few board lengths behind, even stayed with them for a couple of sets). I'm waiting to try the new 14 x 29" from Naish before I stick my hand in my pocket but the NSP/DC is good....very good.

In theory, there should be no difference between theory and practice, but in practice, there is...
