Started with a custom 12' Walden (his first SUP).  Aluminum Kialoa.  I lusted after a 12' Munoz but Surftech was sold out.  Waited two years for a 12' Laird but by the time it arrived, I had moved on.  Now I'm on a 7'4" and just as stoked!
Lots of foil boards 6'7"-7'4", L41 TVD's and Jimmy Lewis Strikers..

Pono gave me his 12-6 Starboard  back in 2007. It took me 3 months of falling every 5 minutes before it finally clicked. At one point I thought I'd never get it and almost gave it up.... :o. 6 months in, on my 50th birthday, I was taking a break from catching some small waves on the Cape (not a soul for miles (mid-January)) when it came to me in a rush what it meant to me. I was torn between smiling so hard it hurt and balling my eyes out....I had my life back....and it's only gotten better every year. I still wonder if I'm dreaming sometime and I'm going to wake up. I have no interest in pinching myself to find out.... ;D  8) ;D

Still have my prototype Sean Ordonez 11'11" "Big Red" shaped back in 2005...hard to count the number of hard core paddlesurfers around here today that started being interested in standup after I shared that board with them...we still see the production "Big Red" version quite often around here...in fact, saw one at the lake the other day...also, seen them recently in Cabo and Punta Mita...

Such a great length...perfect for cruising and surfing...one of the reasons I designed our One World Surfari at 11'11"...;-)

My wifey had the 10'10" "Big Blue" prototype...I think she was prolly the first wahine standup paddler in North America...

We also have the 13' and 14' standup paddleboards that Sean shaped for us here in Santa Barbara back in '06...
The curly Koa inlays are gorgeous...especially, the 13'er against the carbon deck...we designed the 13'er after one of my Brewer guns...the 14'er took 5th place in the first BOP race open class back in 2008...

I'm just old. On the 4th of July, 2007 I went windsurfing in Baja and tried a friends 12' Big Red. I when back over the Labor day weekend with an 11' 32" wide foam topped SUP. I met Chuck Patterson there an he taught me how to catch waves. Chuck was riding a 10'6" Hobie and said he had a 10 footer being built, but not sure if he'd be able to ride such a short board.

That was prolly Kevin or Bill's 11'11" Big Red...no pad...surf wax...old school...;-)

The big red was by friend Silas's. Here's a couple of pics of Chuck  on the 10-6
