New river board from Hala just arrived!!! Called the Hala Atcha!!!
9'x35"(at widest)x6"

Taking it out this weekend to test on flat water and to get comfy with it before heading down the Yampa River here in town.

OK, I know nothing about inflatables or river SUP, and REALLY glad your stoked.

Just gotta say....um, how do I put this tactfully?

Don't want to steal your stoke...

I know some marketing department is patting themselves on the back at just how clever they are at coming up with nifty puns, but that is about the dumbest name I've ever heard.

But if it rips, who really cares?  Maybe I'm just jealous because my board isn't named anything clever at all.  "Wide Point"--how catchy.   ;)

Honestly not a huge fan of the name either but its a local board company here in Steamboat and I know the owner. The name kinda fits his personality, and he is super enthusiastic about river SUP. Plus I am keeping money in town. His race iSUP is the Hala Nass and I think he was going to have another river board called the Hala Peno, which was smaller. The Atcha was tested down some class 4/5 rapids and was the only board to not toss SUPer.

Hey--it's his company!  He can name 'em whatever he wants and doesn't need to worry what a little man with a keyboard thinks. :-[

I did get a laugh out of Hala Nass.  Makes me want to wait and see what else he's got up his sleeve...

Have fun paddling this weekend!

Exactly!!! I sometimes wonder about the amount of time I spend on a forum. Its maiden voyage is tomorrow. Enjoy the water!

I believe the Hala boards are made in same factory as Badfish, everything about the two is the same, including the backpacks that come with both. Gives me more peace of mind knowing they are quality construction, and they are built tough. I have paddled two other Hala boards and loved them.
