I have a very minor ding just above the mid portion of the rail on the right front of my brand new board.  Thank you Fed Ex.  It is a small crack in the paint, which is slightly about 2 /12 inches long.  A small chip of paint is pressed in a tiny amount.  Once cleaned up, it is barely noticeable from a few feet away.  I did a little research and found Puka Patch is an alternative repair method that might work.  It is essentially a buffing pad and clear specialized adhesive tape.  In this instance, it might make sense to use, rather than go the epoxy repair and try to match the paint route.  I ordered some, but any advice is appreciated.  They claim a watertight seal and expect it to last the like for the board. Here is their website.
http://pukapatch.com  I would appreciate any thoughts or advice.  I could not get my jpeg image attachment to load due to file size, even after I zipped it.

Puka Patches work great.  I keep a couple packs in my travel kit.

So, H2Oman, do you use Puka Patch as a temporary repair for a small ding, or as a permanent repair?

I left one on the tail of my Fusion for most of last year.  If it fits over the ding, you should be water tight.

That is what I wanted to hear.  I assume that this is a relatively new product.  Anybody else familiar with it?

i use the Puka rail saver and also carry patches just in case.  I use them on my prone boards too!
Had a patch on for over 1 year and just got around to doing the repair.  It was still holding like new.

How's it different from using tape or a sticker?
It looks like a piece of tape.

The Puka Patch has been around for a while.  It differs from sticker and tape because its waterproof (don't assume your sticker or tape is), you can remove and reapply, you can keep them in your pocket while in the water. they can be applied directly over wax.  Pretty cheap thing to keep in the kit.

If it's a Naish Glide, should you decide to repair it with epoxy and paint, Rustoleum Universal, Canary Yellow turns out to be a really good color match. I know it may sound cheezy, but the Universal line from Rustoleum is a really good alternative to using 2 part urethane paint.

Bean, thanks for the information!!  Yes, it is a Glide.  That is really good to know about the Rustoleum Universal Canary Yellow paint.  Today, I patched it up with the Puka Patch and it seems to work great.  I used an XL patch (3 x 5 inches or so) to add to the waterproofing and maybe hold down and spidering. I also created a nose guard out of another patch.  Not a wonderful fit, but it will give some added protection against the inevitable nose bumps.  Have two patches left over for any future emergency.  I do not plan on the epoxy/paint route, unless it looks like the patch is going to fail me.  It is a very minor crack and I am hoping the Puka Patch will do what they say.
