Kayakhuasteca.....Thanks. It spend years without working, just a trickle coming over the ledge. It is only this year with the River Thames so high and ground saturated that the wave has started to 'Go'    Fairly certain that nobody else has ever surfed it.     The bridge is further away than it looks.

The amazing thing is that wave has been there in my hometown without working for decades. It is usually a trikle of water less tha halif inch deep. Only with recent record breaking weather has the water been high enough. It's an exciting time,for sure. A brand new paddle/surf sport with ganging climate and exciting new discoveries to be made.   

I'm hunting for wave like it all the time! There are loads oof them around but it's like looking for a needle in a hay stack. Things like google earth are great help.

I am glad you couldn't pass that up.  It doesn't take much to get stoked.
Last May we were paddling around and snorkeling in Honolua Bay, and I saw ankle to knee high waves every once in a while break at the point.  So I paddled over and waited and actually caught a few.  Dinged my fin when I hit the reef.  But I was stoked and had fun.  Isn't that the point.

As soon as I see the surfable wave I just cant resist The dry suit is a big help though!
