You are trolling the Zone at counsel table on your iPhone to de-stress while waiting for the judge to take the bench... and get pissed when he or she comes out in the middle of your post... and you have to choose... finish your post, or deal with the judge.

So. how long did you make the judge wait?

I am not addicted, I just started scheduling my life around my time on the water, and have almost stopped building instruments, but I can stop at anytime, so who wants meet at lunch for a paddle?

Yes, realizing denial is the first step but I pretty much only golf on windy, cold, cloudy days anyomore. All of my plans seem to involve figuring out how to be paddling on the water. Possible road trips to races I would never win and considering spending more than $500 for clothing I would use just a few times a year. Actually just considering going out when I would need such clothing is enough. Drive an hour each way to be out for an hour...shorter days are killing my time...what else? Considering spending $1000's more on more boards....but I have accepted all of this so it is all good.

Addicted? When you paddled 330 days last year, and just paddled 300 days so far this year while paddling 6500 miles plus on the way to a 10,000 mile goal. Oh, yeah, and average about two races a month for the last two years.

Brian Williams is doing a special on addiction this evening.  The great thing is,  you can watch it and at the same time be on the forum.

When you refer to your first sup as your "Gateway" board and your shaper as ..."my dealer."

When going out drinking, or picking up strange women at bars is your alibi.

Surf, SUP or Sail (windsurf that is); they all do it for me.   Not a lot of boards but all well used.

One day my dear son was having 4 baby teeth pulled.  The Doctor said if he takes Novocain, he can go back to school; if he takes the needle in the arm, it's home for the day.  With the wind cranking out of the northwest, I told him to man-up and go back to school.  The sailing was epic.

...when you lose your wedding band and seriously consider buying a new board instead of a replacement.

And no, I still haven't made up my mind. I have no issue with my engagement ring pulling double duty  ;)

Ha ha nice. So far my wife and I have spent our hard earned money on a cheap beach wedding, a 2 month honeymoon trip around the US, a trip to the Azores and 4 sup boards. Neither of us have wedding rings!  My wife just wears an amazing one of a kind antique ring I bought at a thrift store for $50.

She is a keeper!
