Oki... are you in Maine?

Tough week with the holiday and all, but if you have any ideas, I'm ready to sueeze in a road trip.

SUP Viking

I'm headed to pick up a board today. I know the surf is good. But i need to nail down a location/day and time.

Let me get back to you all soon.

Hey Oki
Looks like you scored!

I sent you a PM about tomorrow, but I can't include a pic in a PM.
So, I'll put it here.

The wind up there has been favorable so far, but tomorrow looks much stronger and cross shore.
Any place near you that handles a NE flow?
Looks like Cape Elizabeth might work. Have you talked to raf?

I left my phone # in the PM.

He's on my Fusion.  Tomorrow (Wed) at Higgins/Scarborough is going to be solid.  If its not too crowded I'll be playing hooky at Higgins, otherwise I'll hit Scarbs.  Oki got lucky, 2 weeks here and swell every day just about!

I was hoping to make it up there but as crappy as I've been feeling I'll only be good for a short session at best and the honeydo list is especially long this weekend. I'm afraid I have to stay close to home. Have fun!

Hope Maine was as good as ri today.  It was pretty great, glassy in the am, lots of breaks working, big fun.  Creek had planned on Maine but came to ri instead.  Think he had a blast too!

raf

It was a 3 advil day, which is almost as good as it gets (4 advil is the max).  I spent 4 hours in the water, consistent shoulder to head high, with some overhead sets every 15 mins, offshore all day.  Just amazing surf.  Hope you all had some good stuff.

Ha ha raf...
For me it was a 6 Tylenol day... 3 before...3 after.

3.5 hr then 1 hr... my legs were done!

I am sorry it didn't work out today for the Maine run... I checked my PM at 4am as I was leaving for Oki-land ... But Oki had a conflict, so... I went to RI instead ;D

Perfect day... great waves, wind, saw more than a few Zoners. None were out while I was taking pictures between sessions. So I'll throw in a pronerless wave for consideration... well... actually, there is a proner... about to get thumped ;D

Hope you and Oki have a great Thanksgiving,,,, after the morning session ;)

stoneaxe

You guys are making me sick.... ;D. Would have loved to have brought my board to work and then head south to hang in RI but I think I'm going to be pushing it to get out Friday.

So... I went to RI... and who do I meet?
A guy from near Higgins Beach, but he said his "go to" break was Popham ;D
I consider that pretty remarkable, since I had never heard of Popham till I was headed there.

raf

Thats where Oki is around.  Great spot with lots of space, but an hour drive for me.  I was up there yesterday at my in-laws and checked out the waves across the river at Popham and it was going off.

don't know if this is how to post a vid, but its Higgins the day before Thanksgiving.  Too bad I'm goofy, great vid though

That's a nice vid... well put together... good edit for a quickie!

I really like the way that guy surfs his longboard ;D

You should re-post the vid in sessions... may get more people to see it... this thread has run it's course.

We need more Maine input on the zone.... I would love to see some flat-water vids from the area between Higgins and Popham... that place looks like a 100 year exploration area... I'm gonna make trip just to explore that locale.

Plus there has to be 1,000's of good SUP breaks on that rocky shoreline.
