New Buffalo Michigan

Hey - I'm gonna be in New Buffalo from appx 8/13 - 8/17, renting house close to downtown....anyone local wanna get together for a paddle or two?  I'm bringing out the 14' Glide so wanna do some coast runs on the lake as well as some paddles on the river.  Anyone have any local info they can share?

Some suggestions:

1) You can launch from the Galien River and that will lead you out through the marina's to the big lake (Lake Michigan). Pretty peaceful, windy little river.

2) You can launch from the beach and head up and down the shore. Paddling Lake Michigan is pretty awesome if you ask me, but then again I'm a bit biased

There is a local surf shop (Third Coast Surf Shop) which has a location right downtown, and they may have some ideas for where to head to.

Stop in to Casey's or the Stray Dog for a cold one! Enjoy Michigan and our beautiful lake/beaches!!
