Weather front...blessing and a curse

We haven't had any good surf on the east shore of Lake MI for a couple of weeks and I'm chomping at the bit to get a good session on my new surf sup.  So I was pretty fired up this weeding when I saw the forecasts showing winds that would make my home break THE place to be this afternoon.  Problem is, it is also pouring rain, thundering and lightning right now.

I imagine that looking at the charts repeatedly won't change this situation....I'm not too interested in being out in lightning, even on my traditional longboard.

Keeping my fingers crossed to keep the wind and lose the lightning.

I'm sure our local surfers are tortured as well: cold front brought swells peaking at 14 ft....thunder rolled away, it's sunny and 78 degrees....the wind though, is blowing up to 20 knots....onshore !
