This is not so much a straw pole as an observation.

I was in my daughters gymnastics class a couple years ago and overheard two surfers saying "You can always tell how good a surfer is by how many boards they have . . . #1 How many do you have?  #2 I have three how about you?  #1 Just two boards."  I chimed in and asked what they were talking about after which they asked "Well how many do you have?"

I responded: "I don't know!"

PS: I just went out to my garage and counted 10 boards.

3 SUP's, 3 windsurfers, 2 Surfboards and 2 new Costco soft-top boards for my daughters.  This doesn't count the 3 boogie boards, nor 5 boards (2 windsurfers, because someone cancelled my subscription and 3 prone boards because that too has become retro) that I banished to the East Coast or Sold last year.

Boludo

6 SUP's, 3 surfboards.
I'm curious how many StrandLeper has.

Pretty new to the sport here. Just one Wardog-designed, Art Colyer (North Pacific Surfboards) 10'3" x 30.5". Wife has one of their 9'9" x 29.5" so I can borrow hers when I'm ready to surf a little smaller board.

I've also got a Mike Stewart Science MS7 41.5" bodyboard and an original release (or close to it) Boogie board from the early 70's.

2-Sup's.
2- sailboards.
1- 5'0" belly board by John Mel.
1- 14" hand plane.
2- pairs of bodysurf fins.
Over a year ago I sold all my fish hybrids and longboards.
It was the first time in 40 years that I didn't own any surfboards.
The current quiver will cover everything I do in the ocean.

SlatchJim

1 sup, 1 longboard.  I can borrow my daughter's shorter longboard for beach breaks.  Being primarily a weekend  & vacation warrior, it's harder for me to justify a quiver than it is for my wife to justify paying tuition bills for my daughter.

Area 10

12 SUPs
8 surfboards
2 bodyboards
1 very understanding wife.

kabeth

Only 2, between boards and kayaks the wife won't put up with much.

covesurfer

9' 'performance' proner longboard
7'2" 'fish' proner
9'8" Element surf/all-round sup
10'  PSH surf/all round sup
14'  Naish Glide - flatwater/distance/ocean paddles/downwindah's
7'6" Glass Cascade hi-wind sailboard
8'4" wave sailboard
8'6" Mistral yard ornament
12'4" big assed board that is a driveway fixture but I'm gonna take it out for fun some day

I share many of the boards with my wife and daughter in order to avoid possible legal action that could result in my living in a travel trailer with more time on my hands than I want.

At least as interesting a Q is "how many paddles do you own"?

I have 10. I think.

If I had bought early on a carbon paddle that you could adjust in a semi-permanent way, then that number might be about 2.

I don't suppose anyone knows anyone round here who might make such a thing.... nah, didn't think so....
