Well yeah. Today ended nice. I was able to get a paddle session in.

Today was my third day back on the water since being in physical therapy for some ligaments raising hell in my back this fall. Ive been working in some stretching along the paddle as well. Never realized what a great stretching opportunity it is while paddling on flat water. The paddle makes a nice balance point for those stretches.

Anyway, the paddle session began with a super flat water crossing with a slight headwind and what looked like a front moving in. I decided once I got over the edge of this part of the creek I would hop over a short bank and get into the outer edge for a quick shortcut to save time before sunset. Now I could paddle across a wide section and into a small mouth of a long creek that goes almost all the way through town if not stopped by a low bridge. Theres a good mile or more to paddle through.

All along the creek I found myself imagining finding some indian artifacts along the banks. Of course i didnt see anything except old rope and trash, but the though of it is wild. Lots of people out here have found arrowheads, old pottery, and pipes from the days of the Hatterask Indians. Pretty cool to say the least.

Sun started going down kind of quick so I turned back and had some wind to my back on the way in. I just realized tonight how well the blue lights up when the sun is going down. Makes a nice border to see while paddling. The paddle back was easy. I feel some strength coming back even after my third venture back on the water.

It feels good to be on the water. No doubt. I love it ~
