Bob, I send me your email address I want to hook you up with Billibong. Talked to him today and he's very interested, although he's flying out to California Monday.

I'll be out of town myself from Sunday to Tuesday.

Thirty miles today. Ouch. My back hurts. I did most of the run back paddling hard into a five knot wind. I decided to try a semi-racing pace. One-Two, One-two. It actually wasn't much harder to keep that up rather than a leisurely pace, but I was breathing hard most of the way. The last two miles, every knucklehead with a ski boat in the river went by me. Turns out they were having that Red Bull event where you "fly" a contraption into the water a couple of miles downriver from where I started. It was like paddling in a washing machines with lunatics flying by. One a**hole droped my nose right into his wake at near top speed--missed me by a few feet. They waved. I waved too but I didn't use as many fingers. Didn't fall in, but it was sheer determination not to give them a laugh. Four hours up, three back. Average speed--my standard fat lady jogging.

Forgot to bring bars for lunch, forgot the wallet too. Paddled by a riverside restaurant where they were barbecuing ribs and brisket on the deck. I considered trading my iPOD for some ribs and a beer.

Will do weed...sounds good.

We'll all be drafting you Bill.

ECsup and I did 18 today. 1st 9 very flat very slight headwind, first 2 of the return were against a fairly strong tidal current and light winds then once out into the open harbor the wind shifted to 7 knots in our face and the seas had become a confused mess of small swell and boat chop. I did fall a few times in some heavy side on boat wake...lost a pair of sunglasses damnit..... >:( We had tough conditions for 6 of the last 7 miles. We still felt pretty good when we got in....except that my right foot is hurting.  Left us feeling good about Saturday. Hopefully conditions deeper in the bay should be smoother. Fingers crossed for a WSW wind and following seas.... ;D

Yesterday was a grest way to end the training. 18 miles with Stoneaxe filled with some headwinds, chop,slop and even a boatfull of bikini clad young ladies cheering us on.
By the way Bob, Betsy said how awesome look, so that's the last time you are coming to my house or else you might walk away with my wife and my doggies. LOL.

It was a great day and it's been a great experience.

I suggest raising a glass of Guinness when reading this traditional Irish blessing:

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Our thoughts are with you.
