I'm about to shape a 14er that will be good for varying conditions so I can paddle in the marsh, out the inlet and in the ocean.  Most ocean conditions here are short period windswell.    I've got a blank that is 10" thick, I'm thinking 5-6 " of nose rocker, but how far back should that rocker start? 2-3'?
  Thanks for all input.

Use AKU shaper software. It provides a starting point.

Wouldn't you want the rocker to be gradual through out the board. I built a 7'10" for a Guy who was planning on surfing and flat water . So I did a 5 1/4" nose rocker in the nose and 2.25" in the tail. I divided by 2.25 for every 12" in the nose which would be a more aggressive rocket. And I believe. I did 2.5" every foot up from the tail. At the same time I was building a 6'10" sup the rocker is 4,75 in the nose and 2" in the tail. I also did a entry Hull to flat bottom contour. The 6'10" sup feels like it has less drag while lake  paddleing over the 7'10". I am thinking the slight entry Hull is what is decreasing the drag on the 6'10" sup. However it could be the less aggressive rocker as well. Not sure if any of this rambling helps :o)
