Frank from Lightning Bolt was down for some shooting as he is out with busted ribs and a bruised gizzard.  Got up at 5:30 yesterday and the wind was already shaking the house.  But the Airport meter was reading only 10 MPH.  With the forecast being 6-10 feet....worth a check for sure.  Showed up...already windy-shite...no one out.  Wait a second...feels like its backing off...windline moving out to sea.  Let's go!

Not epic, but we got a half hour of fun waves (only 3 or 4 each) propped up a bit by swirling offshores.  Two out on the Left with Chan, solo for me on the right.  Just enough to make the day awesome!  I'm stealing River's STOKED

Very jealous too. My 1st day on the water in almost 3 weeks and all I got was some chop and some knee highs......still felt good to back on the water though and had a great sunset.

There is something really fun about getting to go out in kinda imperfect conditions with only a few peeps and getting some fun waves in.  In a way, it can make you happier than the perfect day that you expected.  The whole North Shore was chalky (although much better size) except for this one little gap in the wind, so we felt like we had gotten a little chunk of fun...while it lasted.  Dethaw the ULI, roll'er up.  Catch a flight  .
