What's Your Board Poll - 2011
« on: November 06, 2010, 08:21:54 AM »
It has been a while since we polled the gear that is getting the most water time by Standupzone users.  Please use the poll options above to register your entry for your most used board for surf

Last time we ran this http://www.standupzone.com/forum/index.php?topic=3014.0 was in early 2009.  Back then, only 9% of riders were using boards of 9' or under.  Let's see how things are stacking up nowadays.

I know its been a game changer for me. Never thought I'd get down to 9'. Now I'm thinking that even smaller is possible. Not sure I'll ever need it though. I'm still a long way from wringing out all the performance of my 9'. I still enjoy my longer boards but if conditions are clean and good size I don't even think about going long.

Still riding the Nah Skwell 7'8 fish the most when the waves are decent. On small days, I like to get back to traditional longboard-style surfing and ride the NS 9'6 and 10'6 for their nose-riding capabilities...    Later,  JD

8'5" Pocket Rocket for me. I really love that board for the type of surf we typically have here.

A more interesting poll could be a 3 part question: A.) How many SUP boards are in your quiver? B.) What sizes are they? And C.) What type of action is each board designed for?

SUP has gone to the level where a serious paddler has to have multiple boards to meet all of the demands of the ever changing conditions and various forms of SUP from white water runs to paddling in to 30' waves!

Hmmm, I have a few at this point.  I have a Naish 12 Glide for flat stuff, a Boga 10.6 for surf and we have a NSP 10.6 for dog and the kids.  So far if I am surfing I use my Boga 10.6 but I want to go shorter and might buy their 9.2.  Anything without waves I go as long as possible, my Glide works well for that.

unless it is ultra windy or very big I'll be out on the Naish 7'9''...as much fun I can have in small waves...when it gets bigger I'll break out the 9'6'' Hokua...

A) I've owned 6 boards, but now only own one,
B) 9'6" PlusOne custom wave board
C) Waves from 1 foot to double overhead

I'm a Jimmy Lewis guy and I love my 9'-5" Striker.
It handles all conditions from overhead surf to noseriding.
It is very stable and really responsive.

I am another fan of the "short and wide" school.
My board is only 32 inches long, but it's 9 and a half feet wide.
Very stable really.

I only have one.  A big honkin' 12 footer.  I've been SUPn' 4 months now and it's quite obvious that I'll wind up with a quiver of boards soon.  Right now I'm looking at getting a much shorter wave board.  My LB's haven't got wet since I got my SUP.
