SUP board for under $500

I've had my SUP ATX board for two weekends now, and I'm having a blast learning the art and science of stand-up paddling.  Love 'em or hate 'em, I don't care, but I love that these SUP ATX guys are living up to their mantra of making stand-up paddleboarding accessible to the masses.

While on YouTube today - of all place - I saw an ad for them where they're selling their older-stock soft top boards for $485.  Like I said, I don't care you love 'em or hate 'em, that's a mental price to score a board and start paddling.

Did you get the soft top board or the regualr design?  Either way, could you post a review of your exprerience with it? 

There are not many reviews anywhere online about these boards, except in the forums here.  I tried posting some questions on their website's message board, but none of the posts go up (even though I get a message at submission that it has.)

Also, if you got their paddle, can you tell me what length they sent you (and your height) and what the approximate weight of the paddle is?

I went for the regular 12' board, not the soft top.  By the way, the new soft tops won't have the rubber that goes all the way 'round the rails, it'll cover to entire deck but stop shy of the rail.

As for reviews, all I can say is that I love it.  I've not really wrung it out because I'm doing simple paddling on flatwater.  I'm new to this whole thing, I never dabbled in board sports before this, so I really am starting from zero here.  And from experience of zero, I think the board's great.  I'm not sure I'm qualified to add much more than that.

As for the paddle, I'd ordered an adjustable paddle, but they sent me a fixed one, so I've been trying to get a feel for the length, and last night I cut it down by about 7".  The original length was about 85".  I'm still due to receive an adjustable one, and after I get that, I'll decide which one I want to keep.  But I can say that it's a very comfortable handle.
