New Paddling Techniques article in Dave's Blog
« on: April 05, 2010, 11:38:07 AM »
Part two of the paddling techniques series: Applying Power has been posted to Dave's blog. I thought to post this notification in the downwind section, but this technique helps greatly with surfing too. http://www.davidkalama.com/
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

Nice. Simple and informative. How Dave explains to keep it short and breaking the the bottom wrist is tricky to stay consistent through the whole paddling session. I tend to loose that form by all the excitement of the downwind run.

Would you think practicing with a smaller width blade make a difference? I am thinking faster cadence so quicker return coming out of the water so you would have a more consistent shorter stroke.

Hi Bill,

I would like to thank you and Dave Kalama for the great articles, pics and footage about paddling technique you came up with lately. It's great to be able to learn from great paddlers like Dave. I've been trying to a apply those tips to my paddling and thought there's still a long way to go, I already can feel a difference for the better: going faster, conecting swells better and getting a lot less tired in the end. I can hardly wait to read the new article!

Keep them coming and thanks again!!

RecSuppa.
