What no SUPs in there? ;)

Took my Pacifico out yesterday with a 7.0 sail (in S. Carolina - not Hawaii!) - nice 11 knot breeze made it fun if not exciting. Good gybe practice conditions.

25 knots is a bit windy for SUP sailing and the large swell got in the way of our downwinder plans.  Perfect conditions for windsurfing, kitesurfing or photosurfing.

Have you sailed your Pacifico in any waves?

2 best are Kauli pushing that board about 3 feet under water, and an absolutely maxed bottom turn by Boujamma(?)   Thanks for posting!

Kauli has that board inverted, nose hook, gauge down.  The setup shots are in this group.

Waves? We're talking SC here! :) Too often they're breaking right at the shore - and I'm still very much a beginner - but hoping to make some progress this season.

So Randy, WAS that Bill Foote doing that big bail? I guess it wasn't all that much, he was just one Foote  in the air.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

No, not Foote.  Here are some later shots from the same plummet.  First some ballet, then a little air-Flatley jig.

If it had been Bill, you know he would have cold-stuck that backloop...and he would have been on a Foote board :).

I'm ready now.  I just got a six pack of Red Bull, a bunch of fins for in the board and a bunch of stickers to put on the sail.  Just need some wind now and I'm doing that twirly gig.

Thot I'd be doing a lot of windsurfing this year, but the sails haven't been out of the tubes. Damn that downwinding stuff, damn it to hell.

Kelly and Mike were chatting on the shuttle about windsurfers going crazy last wednesday.  Mike said there was a very well produced video, screened at Charlies last night.  Apparently they had gps on the boards and were comparing vertical feet acheived.  The award for max height with a landing was 53 feet.  Another guy was over 60 feet,  but he didn't land it.

Amazing stuff.
