Surfboards Makaha
« on: March 18, 2010, 12:13:43 AM »
Just picked up my new board last weekend, shaped by Jay Richardson.  Dimensions are 9'4 x 29.25" by 4.125".

Just under 20 pounds with deck pad and fins.  Ultra responsive, I'm really enjoying it.

Sweet. I just talked to Jay about a 9'6 custom. Maybe 9'6x28"x4" at 17 lbs talk about bad ass looking forward to this SUB. Ekolu seem to be killing that yellow 9'0 he has and Jay seems to be the man for SUP shortboard perfomance customs.

The picture makes the board look fat lol!

Pureadrenaline, I don't think you can go wrong with Jay.  He spends a lot of time talking to you about the board for you and making sure he shapes what you want and not just trying to sell you a board he has lying around.

Plus his prices are very reasonable.

IMHO Jay has the best prices when it comes t a custom SUB. I tried other places and starting was about 1300. starting with a basic one color choice.

Diesel and my boards are similar but he went a bit bigger, and I went a little thinner in the nose than diesel (a touch over 17").  But many of the boards Jay is making have even thinner (15-16") noses than my board.
