Kihei was amazing today. Gust to 40 MPH. Lots of sleigh rides. Used Gumby because MY Foote Maliko 14 is still not done. Yeah, yeah, I know, got to wait for the paint.

I don't have access to downwind conditions. I have access to a windy lake and I am saving my pennies for a flatwater board.

If I could only settle with United Airlines after, wrecking my board in transit, I could order my second Maliko 14. Im so stoke with the crushed version of his board I want him to make me a 17' with a rudder. Would really love it for some stormy Cali downwind right now.

That really sucks... maybe you can talk the freight co. into shipping the board back to Foote, then he can outsource the repair to maybe dingking maui, since their spacailty is DW boards. All on the shippers dime (prepaid of course) and also have it insured for the full cost of a new one incase of new damage happens on the trip back to you.     
Freight companies are going to sand bag you in claims... that is their MO. your biggest problem is that it is in your posession, and now they don't care at all. maybe go sit in their lobby with the board and demand a face to face with the claim manager and president.

i need to add... the claim manager's job is: not give you 100% of your claim.
and when you call to speak to them the receptionist might say "the claim manager is only in for 2 hours every 2 weeks"
so he will get back to you. 
or also "they outsource all claims and here is their number".

True of any insurance adjuster, even if it's self insured. Quickest way to get a reasonable settlement used to be to lawyer up, or at least pretend to. Get a newbie lawyer or a friend to write a letter on letterhead. It's a small enough claim that they might not want to hassle, but these days, who knows.
