Perfect SUP day...Photo Heavy
« on: January 09, 2010, 05:58:45 PM »
Well the December to remember flowed right into the January to...to...OK, I've got nothing.  But, let's just say that January is off to a nearly perfect start.  Driving home from some waves this morning, we see Robby and Michi getting some beauty's at Ho'okipa Point and the Lane.  This time my camera is onboard.   Ilima Kalama (Dave's Dad) was out surfing.  Alan Cadiz showed up with a 11 foot by 23 inch wide red gun that Bill Foote shaped for him.  Dave showed up as well after an outer reef session.  Prime spectating.  Sick rides, near misses, and of course carnage.

It's on Maui, a beach park called Ho'okipa. Very popular surf spot unless the surf looks like this, and then it's a popular spectating area.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

Sorry if it looked like a dumb question to you. ::) but this finger scrolling thing on my laptop can be real touchy and it skipped right to the pictures.

The NW bouy hit 26 feet last night  :o

Maybe some more pics and videos coming from yet another huge swell.

We couldn't tell what happened exactly with the snapped board and the broken leash on that surfboard.  It was pretty far out.  It was a big set that closed out the channel.  The second wave was huge, but we were blocked from the first wave and its spray kept us from seeing what went down.  All the guys who were out at that time were stuck and then looked like they were helping each other out and may have switched boards to assist.  I didn't get any shots of that set due to my shite camera reading "busy", but it was a macker.  We watch for a couple of hours and didn't see another like it.

Great photos Admin.  Its nice to see someone getting some swell.  We were just stoked with knee high last night.  Some sick drops in those photos.
