The guy does not belong out there and he just proved it to himself.    Because of youtube, the whole world can clearly see how much he does not belong out there.    He got away lucky if you ask me!

One the one hand I've watched Ekolu Kalama get his ass kicked for the first couple ot tries in pretty much the same spot (though it looks like our hero in this vid was launching too far to the west) on the other hand those looked like little underhand softballs the surf was tossing, and he was whiffing it. The camera angle from the hill flattens the surf, but gee whiz that looked lame.

I wish the videographer had given us a better vantage point of where he was exactly and where the waves were coming from.  I know tow in surfers are towed out via jet ski, is this the only access area if someone was to attempt to paddle out at Jaws?

Would this be the same area where many times we see jet skis washed up on the rocks?

Actually, he's a really good SUPer and Tow surfer... he told me the story and it was funny the way he told it... ruined a board but he said he just didn't want to drive around so tried to put in on teh rocks and said "bad decision".... live and learn... ha ha.

Board Ruined, but he said ultimately it was an experience worth living and learning from. He eventually made it out and along with 3 paddle in prone surfers, proceeded to get wiped out by a roage set and all 4 of them ended up boardless lol...

FYI - thats a Rhino Chaser - said that after all that it was pretty much OK... some small dings but fine to still ride the next day.

hmmmmmm, after watching the vid i have a very hard time believing the guy has much experience.  So, which was it, "board ruined"...or "pretty much ok"?
