Ekolu Kalama leaving Starboard team?

I just saw on facebook that Ekolu Kalama is signing with Ark boards. They are a local company here in South Florida.  Ekolu was at a recent race that I entered (I think he was 4th or 5th?). It was the first ever Gables to the Bay 5 mile race in Biscayne Bay near Miami.  The winner was Packet Casey on the Jimmy Lewis "Slice" prototype.  Seems like a big push to expand the sport down here with events featuring him.  Here are some pics from this great event.  There was about 150 people in the race with most Standing up.

I read that as well last night in an email from Sean Collins, co-owner of Ark PaddleBoards. Ekolu has paired with ARK, or so it seems. Wish I could have made it up for that race. Looked fun.

just raced and surfed with ekolu this past weekend and yes he is with ark and he has put a lot of his own thoughts and designs into the proto-types he was on. Looks like this next season will be some stiff competition from the ark boys.
