6'5" SUP Prototype
« on: November 12, 2009, 03:21:24 PM »
Brian Syzmanski (Starboard Design Genius) shaped this prototype out of scrap foam and Dan Gavere rode it before it was painted.
I'm waiting on the big guy version 7'5" for guys like me (over 200lbs.)  Maybe next week unless Brian surfs too much this next round of swell.

how good is the paddle.
I emailed (6 seperate times) kiola paddles over a year ago about a "wacky shaft" for a stand up paddle.
never got a reply, so i gave it a miss. still kinda bummed. ill just watch for the new werner.

Dan told me that most elite Olympic paddlers have crooked shafts.  Don't ask how he knows that.

whitewater kayakers have used bent shafts for years to reduce shoulder and wrist strain, but not necessarily to gain more power.  they cost quite a bit, so i just learned a better stroke to avoid tendinitis.
