wobble board

I'm wondering if anyone has trained with a wobble board to improve stand up performance.  If so, have you seen any improvement?  Thinking about getting one to be more productive while watching tv in the evening.

I have a particular need to work on my balance. I found a balance pillow(?) at a local discount store. It's a 15" x 3" inflated disc, smooth on one side, spiky on the other. I put a 30" wide plywood panel on it and use hand weights while standing on it to simulate paddling. Hasn't done much for skills obviously but it works the same muscles. It's actually a lot less stable than my board. 1/2 hour on it while watching some tube is a decent workout.

I made my own balance board out of plywood and a 5" PVC pipe from the Hardware Store. I love it, it is great for balance training. I can allready do a couple of tricks on it too :D . Next I want to get the one that has a half a ball underneath of it,  and try that out. But I have allways had extremely good balance, this just helps keep it tuned up. But I have noticed a difference for sure, in the positive.

I made my own as well(made is a bit of an overstatement actually)

I just found some plywood (3/4 inch maybe).  It is cut pretty big.  Proabably about 2-1/2 feet by 3-1/2 feet.  It could be trimed up some.  I didn't bother even putting the stop ends on it that web pages suggest you put on each end.  I had some 3 or 4 inch PVC pipe  and thats it.  I might try larger PVC pipe if i can find some scrap somewhere.

I've also put the board on a slightly deflated volleyball as an alternative.  I'm not sure which i like better. I think the tube is more fun but maybe the ball is more challenging.
