Best Hydration pack for SUP
« on: September 26, 2009, 03:20:23 PM »
Hi ALL,
I will be doing the distance race in the BOP on my 12'6 and feel that I will need some hydration along the way.
Lots of hydration packs to choose from, but I want one that will be light weight and ideal in the ocean for a 10 mile race.
Thoughts...experiences?
Thanks,
Rick

This looks like a good idea.  72ozs, water wicking type material.  Made by Camelback

I actually like the north face packs best for chest, camelbacks for waist. The North Face thresher is excellent, the bullhead is great for the price. Both have whistle sternum buckles. the bullhead has no waist belt and so is a little less comfortable.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

DaKine Waterman's Hydration pack.

Very light weight - all mesh construction - so the main compartment that holds the bladder will not fill with sea water.
No metal on the pack at all.
Chest strap buckle has a built in whistle.
Easy Rider is the name of my store in Edmonton, AB, Canada.

Rick,

You mean we can't just drink sea water?

What watermelonman said...you can fit 100oz camelbak in them and they do not move around, there are no straps...hydration is done, you will NOT go back to any kind of backpack...not cheap unfourtunately...and for the big guys they only come in XL so the first few times you wear it you will be a bit uncomfortable...if you dont dry it, it will stretch out and get comfy in time

Is that for women?  It looks like a women's running tank top.

I just use a camelback waist pack that I had laying around from prob mountain biking.  I really like that tanktop with the pack built it for more water capacity.  I might pick one up.

I bought the Camelbak race vest at REI for $54 a few days before the BOP. I love it.  Caution - It is like a woman's jog bra, very supportive to man boobs.  Very comforfortable, but my friends heckled me.

Tom,

I saw that your breasts were lifted and separated... I was quite impressed, and to be candid, a little turned on.  Now I know your trick.
